About

Long Island, New York. When you grow up surrounded by one of if not the best music scene the world has to offer, it’s hard not to find yourself consumed by it. To say music is my personality would be unfair, but if I had to use one thing to describe my personality, music would be it. Doesn’t matter who it is or what genre it is to me, I just say, if it’s good, it’s good.

Rise of the Northstar - CHAPTER 04: RED FALCON SUPER BATTLE! NEO PARIS WAR!!
Label: Kuromaku Corp Release Date: November 14th 2025 I wasn’t even gonna do another review this year. I wanted to shift my focus on getting my 2025 top 10 albums post ready. But I felt compelled for some reason to do a review for this one. CHAPTER 04: RED FALCON SUPER BATTLE! NEO PARIS WAR!! is the 4th full length album from whatever the fuck French hardcore crossover rap ani-metal band Rise of the Northstar. Fucks sake I’ve listened to this album much more than I needed to. This a weird...

DRAIN - …IS YOUR FRIEND
Label: Epitaph Release Date: November 7th 2025 Santa Cruz hardcore kings DRAIN are back with their third full length album, …IS YOUR FRIEND. This is a positive, feel-good record with no shortage of gnarly riffs, breakdowns, skank parts, sing-alongs, and solos. DRAIN is a band, that when you hear their music, you immediately know it’s them. Whether it’s the killer guitar tones, the infectious grooves, or Sammy’s undeniable vocals, you know you’ve stepped into their world from the first notes....

Biohazard - Divided We Fall
Label: BLKIIBLK Release Date: October 17th, 2025 It’s been 13 years since NYHC legends Biohazard released an album. They have now returned with Divided We Fall, featuring their classic lineup, and boy it’s refreshing to hear these guys back at it, just as if it was the early 90s. We are thrown back into that era right as we start the first track, hard riffs and some tough-guy attitude. This is streetwise 90s NYHC. This is the bands complete playbook — mosh parts, fast parts, two-step parts,...

Despised Icon - Shadow Work
Label: Nuclear Blast Release Date: October 31st, 2025 After 6 years, Montreal deathcore kings are back with Shadow Work, their 7th LP. Released on a busy Halloween, the album is a lukewarm but solid enough outting that displays the deathcore vets’ chops and why they are still one of the last OGs goin hard. This is manic, brutal, technical deathcore that also highlights the hardcore part of the genre. Shadow Work showcases a veteran band with the energy of younger, hungrier, and newer outfit....

Aephanemer – Utopie
Label: Napalm Records Release Date: October 31st, 2025 Symphonic Power Death/Black Metal, whatever the fuck you wanna call this. Utopie the 4th album (produced by Dan fuckin Swanö), released on Halloween, by French band Aephanemer, was my first experience with the band. I loved every damn second of it. All 6120 of them. Utopie is packed with orchestral grandeur, the sharp bite of melodic death metal, lush polyphonic musical texture, blood curdling screams you’d find on a black metal release,...

Interview / Pedestal For Leviathan
Colorado Vampyric Death Metal band Pedestal For Leviathan recently released their debut full length horror, Enter: Vampyric Manifestation on Halloween. You can find my review for this awesome album here . I was able to have a nice quick Q&A with the Vampyr Lord himself, mastermind behind Pedestal For Leviathan, Kendrick Lemke. Photo Credit Instagram @crippledxwings I know bands like Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, and Emperor have always been some of your favorites, and Pedestal For Leviathan...

Cannonball - Cannonball
Label: Youngblood Records Release Date: October 17th, 2025 Though there is a healthy scene of hardcore bands in the UK, it does seem that in this area of the world, straight edge has always been harder to come by. It makes sense though, this is a place where sharing pints with your mates is engrained in the culture. Nevertheless, there are still plenty of blokes Xing up in the UK. The members of Sheffield straight edge hardcore punk band Cannonball are some of them. Cannonball released their...

Interview / Lion's Den
He beats ass up on stage for several bands, and in the ring as Samhain. Following the October 13th 2025 release of Enter The Den…, the debut EP from one of his latest projects, Long Island hardcore band Lion’s Den, I caught up with primary songwriter, drummer, and producer, Remarkable Wrestling Champ Sam (no government name needed). As soon as I turned on Enter The Den…, I couldn’t help but go, “ahhh here’s Under The Knife”, was the conscious idea when starting this project to emulate that...

Lion’s Den - Enter The Den… (EP)
Label: Delirium Release Date: October 13th, 2025 Have you ever heard Hatebreed’s Under The Knife EP? Then you know exactly what to expect from Enter The Den…, the debut EP from Long Island hardcore band, Lion’s Den. Drywall beware. As soon as it starts, you’re compelled to smash your enemies. Each riff calls for movement, every breakdown demands blood. All 4 songs on here are spin kick and crowdkill worthy. Riffs, snare, and breakdowns. All killer, no filler. Opening track, Suffer My Pain...

Dead Heat - Process of Elimination
Label: Metal Blade Records Release Date: October 10th, 2025 Welcome to Oxnard, California. Welcome to crossover. Dead Heat is a metalheads’ best friend. They return with their 3rd full length album, Process of Elimination — a mighty fierce follow-up to 2021’s World At War. Here is a record with enough stomp to cave in the fuckin’ floor. World At War was a 10/10, force to be reckoned with. It was a filthy riffin’, two steppin’, stage-diving crossover masterpiece. It did such a fantastic job...

Soul Blind - Red Sky Mourning
Label: Closed Casket Activities Release Date: October 10th, 2025 Hudson Valley, NY, Soul Blind is a group I was super hype on when I first heard them back in 2021 via their fantastic Third Chain EP. But when their first proper full-length, Feel It All Around, came out in 2022, it just didn’t connect with me. I haven’t really listened to them much since, but when I saw they had a new record coming out, I added it to my release list to listen to. As soon as I pressed play, I smiled and laughed....

Death SS - The Entity
Label: Lucifer Rising Records Release Date: May 9th 2025 Italian heavy metal band, Death SS released their 11th full length album, The Entity, earlier this year, and number 11 does not disappoint. I am so late to this record. I had no clue this came out back in May. It flew right over my head. To be honest, the fact I am just now listening to this in October, may have worked in the albums favor. Consider this review, and score seasonally biased. The album starts strong with tracks like...

Grael - World Without End (EP)
Label: Streets Of Hate Release Date: September 4th 2025 A month ago, Grael, hardcore/metalcore band from Long Island, New York dropped their first EP, World Without End. There are riffs here that Slayer wish they put on their records and breakdowns that will make you break your own neck, or someone else’s nose. There’s a rabid feeling laced in the music that is sure to infect any listener and any audience member.  At only 18 minutes, this EP shreds through you, with ripping guitar tones, a...

Fermented Mess - Fermented Mess (EP)
Label: Baby Chico Records x End Meaningless Noise  Release Date: October 3rd, 2025 What a fucking disgusting mess this is. Long Island, NY 3-piece grind outfit Fermented Mess set out pulverize audiences into puddles, and after this release, I’d say watch where you’re stepping. Their self titled debut EP is 9 songs, and 8 minutes of bone crushing and two stepping grind that will stick with you much longer than its runtime.  You don’t need to think much, just press play. There is no warmup, you...
