(Concert Review) 400 BPM and Beyond: Archspire Rocks Brooklyn with High-Octane Metal

I had the chance to see Archspire live at Warsaw Concerts in Brooklyn, NY, on June 12, 2024, alongside Aborted, Carcosa, and Alluvial. Having been a fan of Archspire since 2018, their 2021 album “Bleed the Future” has been in regular rotation on my playlist, a masterpiece with not a single track to skip. My anticipation was sky-high, nearly setting me up for disappointment due to towering expectations. However, the actual concert experience didn't just meet but massively exceeded these expectations, a rare occurrence indeed.

Attending an Archspire concert is an electrifying experience. Known as one of the fastest bands on the planet, their performances often reach a staggering 400 beats per minute, pushing the limits of technical death metal. Their shows are a showcase of precise, complex riffs and rapid drumming that almost defies reality.

The energy at the venue was electric. The crowd went wild, fueling the atmosphere with waves of body surfers, intense mosh pits, and a few death wall experiences. Archspire doesn't just perform; they truly engage the audience, pulling everyone into an experience that's brutal and memorable.

Moreover, Archspire combines their unmatched technical skills with a uniquely engaging, light-hearted stage presence. The show is a perfect balance of intensity and fun, filled with quirky interactions and humorous moments. There is 'The Shoey' contest, the mosh pit twister game, the x-rated jokes, and everything in between. At one point, it also felt that it was a comedy skit. However, these antics do not take away from the actual show itself, nor are they used to compensate for a bad performance. Oh no, the performance is mind-blowing on its own.

This blend of Turbocharged music and playful stage antics ensures every Archspire show isn’t just heard; it’s experienced in full. Finally, whenever I'm at a show at Warsaw, I make it a point to indulge in the pierogies. They are a must! This was a truly unforgettable night.
